She/Her Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Consultant, Owner of SMHWG

I am an optimist, always looking for another way to solve the problem and move forward in life despite the &^%*#!!. I'm a licensed therapist; I have been a therapist for years, am a supervisor and am the owner of this group practice.

Born in Europe, I grew up in Asia and the South and moved to Oregon years ago to attend the doctoral program at Pacific University in Clinical Psychology. I have an M.S. in Clinical Psychology and am licensed as an LPC. I found a fulfilling profession and now call this rainy city my hometown. You may have known me under my previous last name: Brown. I have been told I am compassionate, direct, honest, challenging and persistent. All of this is true: I don't believe in wasting your time or mine. I want to get to the heart of the matter with you.

While life can get difficult, sometimes a little help from a professional can make things better. I have always loved psychology and feel grateful to work with inspiring people every day. I value honesty, trust, compassion and personal strength, and I hope to use these to provide you with the tools you need to seize back your life. I practice psychodynamic therapy. I will want to get to know you and help you gain insight into who you are and how you relate to others. Our relationship and connection is very important to me!

Specialties & Interests: Older adolescents and adults, individuals and groups. I do not see couples. Complex trauma, emotional manipulation and personality disorders are my specialties, however I have a lot of experience treating many mental health problems and crises. I have worked in my own office, a group practice, an agency setting, a hospital setting and in the community.

Since I am the owner of our group practice and a clinical supervisor, I am pretty busy, which is also why my schedule is not listed here. I typically see clients on a long-term basis, so I am carefully taking on a few clients right now. I am not accepting any telehealth clients; if you begin therapy with me and want to switch to telehealth, I will refer you to a provider who works virtually. I want to meet you in person. Even if I might be a good fit for you, I encourage you to consider seeing one of our clinicians — we will be working together to help you.

They/Them Licensed Professional Counselor & Art Therapist

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lewis & Clark College and a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Lewis & Clark's Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Art Therapist.

I have spent the majority of my life in Oregon and the tall pines of the Pacific Northwest have always felt like home. In my free time, I like to binge TV shows, go hiking or paddle boarding with my partner, dabble in an artistic hobby, lovingly annoy my cat or play board games with friends. I am nonbinary/queer and neurodivergent. People who know me well would describe me as creative, nerdy, compassionate, goofy and an inquisitive, deep thinker.

The primary focus of my training and practice is as an art therapist, and I am excited to offer art therapy counseling services to anyone who wants a more experiential form of therapy. Sessions include both talk therapy and the creation of art, and the amount of either depends on your unique needs — I will always try to meet you where you're at. I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens that honors your unique experiences and perspective, supports your goals, and recognizes the ways you have resiliently adapted. I am always considering how you may be uniquely impacted by systemic inequities, intergenerational trauma and both external and internalized marginalization.

Special interests: LGBTQIA+ teens and adults, ADHD/Autistic adults, complicated grief and loss, complex trauma (attachment-related, childhood, intergenerational or systemic), relational struggles, identity, navigating disability/neurodivergence, stress and burnout, adjusting to difficult life transitions and existential struggles.

  • Tuesday: Telehealth

He/Him Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

I moved to Oregon to be closer to my family. I like the natural landscape and the change of seasons; I really appreciate the rain and the greenery. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, hiking and cooking. In my previous life, I was a pastry chef, so sometimes I still make some of my favorite French pastries. Honestly, you should try Marjolaine pastry — it is delicious!

I completed my undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Pacific University. I graduated from Lewis & Clark's Graduate School of Education and Counseling with a Master's in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT).

Have you been labeled or judged by others? Have you had to hide a part of your identity? I know what it is like not to be seen as a whole person. I myself identify as a gay man and I haven't always been open about this with everyone in my life — I am now though. As your therapist, I want to create a safe space where you do not have to worry about being judged as a label. Are you having issues in your relationship? Do you feel disconnected from your partner or others? I want to help you reconnect.

I work with individuals struggling with depression, social rejection, anxiety, trauma, men's issues and difficulties trusting others. I also work with couples struggling with co-parenting, finances, communication, and lack of connection and intimacy. I practice a variety of therapy styles including Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, CBT and the Gottman Method (couples). I really enjoy hearing people's personal stories.

  • Tuesday: Tigard Office

He/Him Professional Counselor Associate

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California and have lived in Portland since 2007. While I love the redwoods and ocean back home, I'm thankful that the trees and beaches here are never too far away. I enjoy books, writing, rain, coffee, concerts, ghost movies, exploring new places with my kid, hanging out with my cat, and keeping my plants alive.

I hold a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz. I am a Professional Counselor Associate under supervision. I have a lot of experience working in non-profit agencies, residential, community-based and homeless services, and sub-acute care.

We all carry our experiences of hurt, doubt and uncertainty. I work with clients to better understand and process the patterns, connections and tensions in their lives and stories. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, trauma-informed space where paths to healing, growth and resolution can be discovered. I practice existential therapy, drawing from psychodynamic, person-centered, narrative, attachment, cognitive, polyvagal and mindfulness approaches. I also encourage space for levity — a bit of dark or absurd humor in therapy can be quite helpful.

My focus: adults with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and attachment issues. My experience also includes grief and loss, relationship problems, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, neurodivergence, sex addiction, substance addiction and interpersonal difficulties.

Where I work:
  • Monday: Sellwood Office
  • Tuesday morning: Sellwood Office
  • Wednesday: Sellwood Office

  • Saturday & Sunday: Not working
I prefer to meet in person but also have some availability for telehealth.

Joining May 2026 — ask to be added to my waitlist

I have 12 years in the mental health field, providing outpatient therapy and diagnostic assessments to adolescents (age 14+), adults, families and couples. I incorporate elements of humanistic, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness practices, and have experience working with people struggling with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, relationship conflicts, life transition issues and more.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my Master of Science from the University of St. Thomas. I recently moved to Oregon after 15 years in the twin cities of Minnesota — I have quickly fallen in love with the area and will not miss the Midwest winters! In my free time I enjoy running, traveling with my wife, and seeing as much live music as possible.

Clients often begin with an idea of their goals, just needing the extra insight and encouragement to clarify them or take the first steps. They need someone to listen, to provide empathy and validation, and then to help guide them along the path they have chosen. Everyone has their own mountain to climb, and we all need help to begin or continue that climb. I see adolescents and adults.

Nick is in the process of joining our practice in May 2026 and is accepting clients currently; however, we are waiting for insurance verifications, so please ask to be added to his waitlist. As soon as he is able, we will get you scheduled.
